The PRIMA european project AGROFORESTEAM has launched an ambitious initiative to promote the adoption of silvo-arable and silvo-pastoral agroforestry systems (AF) in Mediterranean regions. Its main goal is to create a territorialized Multi-Actor Platforms (MAPs), following a living lab approach to implement and overcome technical, political, and socio-economic barriers.

On July 18, 2025, the AGROFORESTEAM project was introduced during the final event of the European project SENSE, held at Città dell’Altra Economia in Rome. The meeting gathered researchers, farmers, policymakers, and citizens to discuss the role of agroforestry and silvopastoral systems in driving the agroecological transition.

The AGROFORESTEAM project will participate as a partner in the First International Seminar on Rangelands and Pastoralism: Reality and Challenges for Sustainability (RanPasS1), taking place from 2–5 April 2026 in Djerba, Tunisia. The event is organized by the Arid Regions Institute (IRA), Medenine, in collaboration with multiple international partners, with a special focus on dryland pastoral ecosystems and pastoralist communities.
